TC - moving forward. New suggestions.
As most of you know. These past three months have been influenced by some rather heavy top down regulation of the Toy Control chat room. We are now in a high conflict situation where the mods are feeling attacked, and the community is feeling policed. Not an ideal situation for a sex site where we're supposed to have fun.
This is a call for communication and order! Lay your weapons down, let's have a proper conversation and come with your best suggestions.
Underlying all of this is that we, as a community, need to have a clear voice about what we want. Only this way do we have influence towards the developers about what features and rules this site should have. The sky is really the limit here.
My suggestion is make a new chat room. Let's call it "The all purpose fun room".
Here we could share links, have fun banter, perhaps post gifs, and generally have fun! And interact like adult humans do. We could have very few rules that would regulate the speech (personal attacks would not be allowed for example). Would there be drama? Sure probably. But humans are humans. Allow them to be so.
We could also run this room parallell to the standard "toy control" where more strict rules are followed for those who desire a more controlled format.
Another suggestion is to set it up like in the discord server.
What do you guys think?
TC - a 3 month history. For reference.
"Light chat" was initially allowed. The first problem with this mantra is that no one could agree what "light chat" was. It's obvious to me already at that point that this would blow up. This is because "light chat " is subjectively defined. it cannot be agreed upon without very specific "laws" that would regulate said speech. As a result, there were dubious bans based on subjective judgment on said undefinable rules, and a community that was becoming increasingly split. The trajectory was pointing downwards already at this point.
Then came the rule that "no speech" was allowed in TC. Only the robotic, wave and thank you. This is not how humans behave. And it's utterly naive to think humans interact in this way. As of mid/late april the situation blew up in general chat.
I do understand that the mods are simply trying their best to enforce rules that are coming from above. I understand it's not an easy situation. However you do have a responsibility to logically and unemotionally deal with a problematic situation. In my opinion, you should have told the devs that the site is becoming more and more unmanageable based on the rules coming from above. You should then have tried to resolve the situation by asking the community what we want, so that information could reach the devs. And new features and rules could have been implemented as a result.
The headache you must have gone through trying to enforce these rules must have been substantial. I do have sympathy for your predicament. Ultimately, however, I do believe trying to enforce these rules brought more conflict than necessary.

Thank you for starting the conversation. to anyone that wants to add to the dialog, please remember to be respectful and bring carefully though through concerns and ideas. This should not be a place to just bitch about how much you hate things, lets work towards real solutions.
