I see a lot of links get passed up and fellas getting frustrated while other guys get picked up immediately, even if they are searching for the same demographic of partner. There's a strategy here, it's not just random. Don't despair, try to improve your appeal, like with anything else in the world of matchmaking and chemistry! Here's a short list of things in link's that sway my decision to click them or not. (I specifically only go for M4A links, so that is my perspective, but I think it applies more broadly as well.) 1. Time. Sometimes I don't have very long. I'll grab links on my lunch break. If it's someone I don't recognize, I don't want to commit to coming up with more than five minutes of a pattern. If we click, more is great, but if not, why take the risk of being stuck there for ten minutes? Keep it 3-5 minutes!

2. Thirsty text. If I'm not super horny (yet), I don't want a link with text that's really raunchy. As a general rule, don't reference any body parts in your text and the post will be more appealing. Instructions on how you like the pattern to be is great, and it shows that you're present in the process (and not just really horny and desperate for anything.) Desperate ain't cute.

3. Profile Picture. Yeah, we are all a little shallow mmkay? Man chests are a dime a dozen, so unless it's memorable, swap it for something more fun. If you have that epic chest and just gotta show it off, include something interesting in the picture alongside it, be that a cool tattoo, a fun patterned piece of clothing (hell maybe just a necktie with no shirt or something), or a puppy under one arm. If you don't want to show off, stick to a meme for no points lost with a blank or generic picture.

4. No preferences. If you really don't care who grabs your link... Say so! Let everyone know they are welcome. (Otherwise you'll never get controlled by a vampire! Please laugh.) Everyone is here for a reason and when someone puts #M4W, you immediately know they want to connect in a way related to their heterosexual preferences. But not everyone is here specifically related to sexual preference, so if that's the case, make it known so expectations are clear.
